AllMyFaves

allmyfaves

AllMyFaves is a start page with small neat icons all over the page. It’s slightly flashy on the eyes but creates a visual compilation of all of your links.

Performance:
The website loads slowly. Maybe it’s the number of images/icons loaded, else the servers or code need an upgrade, ASAP. Switching tabs works reasonably fast.

UX:

In the homepage, a huge banner appears right in front of you at the top of the page. On the “my faves” page the banners are gone, but there are a “Most popular” and “Weekly faves” categories that cannot be moved or deleted at the bottom of the page, and a massive waste of space at the top of the page with a whole bunch of links to add more tabs/bookmarks. Not cluttered, but not very clean.

The UX experience for adding bookmarks is not great. After every marker I add, the screen goes completely blank, and I have to stare at a floating “Loading…” message for a few seconds. It is enough to drive anybody crazy!

My Way

My Way

My Way used to be a complete web portal and search engine like Yahoo!, but without any banners, pop-ups or spam. Since December 2015 the service has been disabled and replaced by another, much more simple version. Now you can use it to search Google through custom search and to click through to some key websites. It’s not a complete and customizable suit anymore, but you might want to take a look at it, none the less.

Performance:
The loading speed of the new tab page is fast.

UX:
The company has taken a fundamental and minimalistic approach. It may work for some people, so try it out.

  • Search bar
  • Bookmarks
  • Email

Export:
It’s not possible to export your bookmarks and feeds from your account.
